The campaign was launched after 6 days intensive training on advocacy.
Their Campaign Overall Objective:
- To promote well-being of AGYW in the our communities through innovative advocacy approaches to uphold their Sexual Health Rights
Specific Objectives:
- To build a network of girls advocates to enhance their participation in claiming SRHR services and information
- To engage the communities members and leaders in dialogue to support and protect girls from harmful cultural practises
- Through dialogue engage men and young boys to understand and respect the SHR of AGYW
- To hold county and national gov’t accountable in provision of Adolescent friendly services.
Public Events during campaign:
- Girls Forum: Targeting 800 girls , 200 per county.(Each forum will have 100 girls) The girls will be sensitized on their rights and their voices will be collated to act as the communique for public statement during community advocacy forums.They will also develop Advocacy messages to be used during public actions
- Community advocacy forums: through public barazas and this will target community leaders and opinion leaders(Branded T-shirts, Umbrellas, paper caps, Wristbands , rappers)
- Hold Boda boda festivals: The games will include; Drill Football, sack races, Short races, tag of war etc. This is part of strategy to engage men. This will be a half a day event. (Reflector jackets, Balls, Sacks, Refreshments, First aid Kit,)
- Targeted Roadshows: 2 road shows; 1 in Kuria and another in Seme (Music system, dancers, Mc, Caravan, )
